Program
What are the principles of sports management and how do sporting organisations succeed? Next Gen course workshops meet daily, offering insider access to the fast-paced sports industry. Learn how sports brands are built, organizations attract sponsors, fan experiences are enhanced, and major events are managed. We investigate sports principles from youth to professional levels through hands-on learning and discussion, with coursework combining individual and group projects. The curriculum emphasizes management, marketing, ethics, athletics at all levels, sponsorship, communications, broadcasting, and career strategies.
The program is taught by accomplished faculty who are leaders in sports management, selected for their expertise and ability to engage students. Beyond core instruction, the course features special visits from experts across various sports specialties.

Housing is within easy walking distance of dining. We will use student responses to the housing questionnaire to pair roommates and group students in gender specific residence groups. Senior Staff will also live in residence and are available to help with any issues 24/7.
Meals
Next Gen students enjoy 2 meals a day throughout the program. While at Columbia, meals will be at Ferris Booth Commons where food stations offer varied options, including vegetarian fare, deli bar, salad stations, pizza, and more. Columbia dining is able to accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences. Meals will be provided off-site during excursions.
